Residues of veterinary drug refer to the residues of prototype drugs or their metabolites that are accumulated or retained in livestock and poultry bodies or products (such as eggs, milk and meat) after drug administration, including residues of impurities related to veterinary drugs. Residues of veterinary drug are one of the important factors affecting the safety of animal-derived foods; the main causes of residues of veterinary drug include: non-compliance with the regulations during the drug withdrawal period, over the specified maximum usage, illegal use of illegal additives, and pollution during feed processing, storage, and transportation.
With the change from demanded-oriented animal-derived food to quality-oriented animal-derived food, the residues of veterinary drug in animal-derived food have gradually become a focus of attention worldwide.
Currently, the domestic regulatory regulations on veterinary drugs include: Regulations on Administration of Veterinary Drugs, Food safety national standard Maximum Residue Limits of Veterinary Drugs in Food(GB 31650), List of Drugs and Other Compounds Prohibited to Use in Food Animals (Announcement No. 250 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China), Regulations for the Use of Feed Drug Additives (Announcement No. 168 of the Ministry of Agriculture), and List of Drugs Prohibited to Use in Feed and Animal Drinking Water (Announcement No. 176 of the Ministry of Agriculture), etc.
